Rain eases as crews tackle road issues

The easing up of the recent rainfall will come as a relief for the crews trying to get on top of all the localized flooding issues we’ve had.

Regional Fire Chief Terry Swan says the 25-millimetres of rain Friday into Saturday was just too much for snow-bound culverts to handle.

A road at Shoreacres was washed away and vehicles can not pass. The repair is expected this week. A section of Highway 31 north of Coffee Creek bridge was closed but has re-opened.

Swan says as a general rule anyone living near a creek should keep an eye open for any unusual flow behavior and report it.
