The City of Nelson is responding to another leak in its wastewater force main near Grohman Narrows.
The city said its 24-hour alert system was triggered overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. A dive team is expected to mobilize Thursday morning to look for it and complete repairs.
Water sampling is also underway as part of the emergency response and will continue during repairs and after the work is complete.
The city said the incident has been reported to provincial authorities and it remains in contact with the province.
Nelson received $7 million in provincial funding in 2025 toward the estimated $11.6-million cost of replacing the aging force main.
Design work is ongoing, with construction expected to begin in 2027.
