March was mildest ever in West Kootenay

Four record daily high temperatures were set last month in West Kootenay.The warmest day was the 10th when it passed 20 degrees.

The stretch from the 8th to the 11th helped lead us to the mildest March on record – beating the old mark set in 1992.

Showers and thunderstorms took over after the warm and dry start to the month.There was 132 per cent of the normal monthly precipitation.

However nearly all of the 82.8 mm fell after the 13th.

There was only 10 cm of snow the entire month.
