Trail’s Citizen of the Year is …

Trail’s 2014 Citizen of the Year is Barbara Gibson.

Gibson wears many hats in the community including Chair of the Library board and Founder and Visionary of the Sanctuary Pre-teen Drop-in Centre.

She will be recognized next month by the Knights of Columbus who have been presenting the award for 60 years.

Gibson admits she’s overwhelmed.

Gibson – who also works with the United Way, Trail Hospice Society and local churches – modestly thanked her colleagues and fellow board members saying she wouldn’t achieve anything without them.

The public is welcome to attend a ceremony May 5th at St. Michael’s School.
