Selkirk to award Atamanenko honourary diploma

Years after teaching at Selkirk College, local New Democrat MP Alex Atamanenko will receive an honourary diploma from the school.

Atamanenko has been the representative for the BC Southern Interior riding since 2006 and Selkirk has decided to recognize the retiring politician with an honourary diploma in peace studies.

Atamanenko also taught at Castlegar’s Stanley Humphries secondary before being elected.

He will be honoured on stage during the 2015 graduation ceremony next Friday.
