Low budget meeting turn out in Castlegar

Are Castlegar residents content or apathetic when its comes to the city’s annual budget?

It’s a question being asked by councillor Florio Vassilakakis after another low turn out to a public open house in-depth look at the $32 million dollar fiscal plan for 2015.

There was a lot of concern from residents heading into last November’s election regarding financial accountability for Council.

However, Vassilakakis says that might have been a vocal minority in the community.

Vassilikakis backs up his argument by pointing out Mayor Chernoff and all five councillors running in November were re-elected by voters.
