Local waste stations extend hours

The RDCK is extending the hours at two key local waste sites.

The Ootischenia Landfill near Castlegar and the Grohman Narrows Transfer Station near Nelson will soon operate for an additional hour and a half into the late afternoons.

Currently the hours are 8-30 am to 4 pm Monday to Saturday. But as of June 1st they will remain open until 5-30 pm.

This will be the case all year at Grohman Narrows. The Oostischenia site will revert to the shorter hours for winter as of November 1st.
