Public key in tracking mental health patient:RCMP

Greater Trail RCMP say the public was key in helping track down a dangerous mental health patient who escaped from the Daly Pavilion facility.

18 year old Alexis Grenier was located by Nelson Police Sunday evening.

He had escaped Saturday evening and was described as delusional, with homicidal hallucinations and hyper-sexual.

Here’s RCMP Sgt Darren Oelke.

Oelke says they will follow up with the Daly Pavilion as there was a delay in police being notified of Grenier’s absence.

RCMP put out a media release Sunday afternoon although Oelke adds they could have notified the public even earlier.
