Hydro pay card scam surfaces in Trail

Greater Trail RCMP are investigating any leads they get on the common hydro pay pal phone scam that has turned up in the area.

A male caller phones a business and tells them he’s from a utility company and their power will be shut off immediately unless a certain pay card is bought and that info sent to him.

RCMP say no local businesses have fallen for the trick and it’s a fraudulent scheme.

No utility companies are involved in this.
