Nelson Council thought long and hard about the very long build-out period for the proposed Nelson Landing development.
But Mayor Deb Kozak says while allowing a 20 year time frame is unusual, it’s the right decision for the Brown Field site on the waterfront.
It could ultimately have 265 residential units.
The city is allowing 10 years for the first 70 units to be built before a second access road needs to be put in.
There is some concern about traffic congestion.
