Nelson Fire Dept responded to a grass fire around 10-30 pm Tuesday night pretty close to a multi-family residential area.
Chief Simon Grypma says the cause of the blaze at the undeveloped end of Sproat Drive near the old peco decks on the waterfront could be suspicious.
The crew used foam-enhanced water and it was quickly doused.
Grypma says some residents had heard sounds similar to fireworks shortly before they noticed the blaze.
