Council puts decision on kindness meters on hold

Creston Council is delaying a decision on allowing so-called kindness meters.

The initiatve sees old parking meters painted brightly and placed around town to raise money for charities

The Creston Lion’s Club proposed a partnership with the town back in March.

Councillor Kevin Boehmer says the request is on hold until the fall and will be included in a larger review of parking.


Staff has concerns that there’s only one master key for the meters including the old ones from Canyon Street, which could be used for the fundraiser.
