Specialized equipment en route to Slocan Lake

More specialized equipment is being brought in to help search for the three missing youth presumed drowned in Slocan Lake.

For a second full day Tuesday, RCMP divers scoured the area where their canoe capsized but without success.

Underwater sonar was used.

Emergency Management BC has agreed to deploy side scan radar and an underwater remote vehicle and that gear is expected to arrive on Thursday.

The cold and very deep water now estimated at up to 700-feet in parts – is proving to be very challenging.

But divers will be back in the water Wednesday as well.

The three New Denver males aged 15 to 21 – are thought to have perished in the boating incident Saturday which has already claimed the life of a young woman.
