Councillors justify dispensary vote

Why did Nelson city council vote the way it did on banning medical marijuana dispensaries?

Councillor Anna Purcell says she was in favour of the zoning amendment because it maximizes their options.

But councillor Robin Cherbo opposed it.

The amendment passed 4-3 but the city says it has no intention of shutting down existing dispensaries.
