A local conservation officer has rescued 11 abandoned chickens.
Nathan Smienk was driving up a forest service road when he came across them.
Smienk doesn’t know why they were left there but says releasing them wasn’t a good idea.
Smienk put them in the back of his truck and found a home for them, where they’ve since laid eggs.
