A disappointing start to the season when it comes to bear conflicts in the Greater Trail area.
So says local WildsafeBC coordinator Sharon Wieder after an animal was destroyed Sunday night in the Glenmerry area.
It had been habituated last Fall and Wieder (Wee-dur) explains it returned in early April only to become more aggressive since.
Wieder says she has received numerous calls over the past few weeks about bears getting into resident’s garbage and even breaking into sheds.
She reminds citizens to utilize the bear proof bins at the Glenmerry Public Works yard and in Sunningdale.
