Kootenay unemployment rate at 6.7% for February 2018

The unemployment rate in the Kootenays for February 2018 didn’t change from same month last year.

The local workforce shrank by nearly 10,000 to just over 70,000.

About 6,500 people had jobs while 4,700 were looking for work.

The unemployment rate stood at 6.7%.

The provincial unemployment rate is 4.9%.
