An outgoing Nelson councillor says the city must do more to attract working people and those with young children to seek office.
Paula Kiss – who has decided not to run again- says the lack of proper compensation means council is dominated by retired people and that’s not a true reflection of the community it represents.
Kiss says it’s depressing that at the age of 38 she’s the youngest councillor and because she doesn’t have young kids she doesn’t fit that important demographic either.
