UPDATE: Three candidates in the running for Nelson By-Election

UPDATE: February 25th

There are now three official candidates running for the office of councilor in the Nelson By-Election.

Former candidate Daniel Nolan says he fully intends to run in two years but has changed his mind about this election.

“I’m not really comfortable with replacing Brittny’s spot on the council because that would only leave one woman on a council of six people. So I have stepped back and am going to withdraw from the race.”

With Brittny Anderson becoming the Nelson-Creston MLA that has created an opening in the City council.

Four candidates are now officially in the running for the office of councilor in the upcoming By-Election in Nelson.

Nicole Charlwood, Daniel Nolan, Brenton Raby, and Joshua Wapp are the four who filled out the application package and are hoping to be elected.

Some important dates for voters to remember are:

  • March 10th
    • Last day to request a mail-in ballot
  • March 17th
    • Advanced voting day one
    • At City Hall
  • March 24th
    • Advanced Voting day two
    • At City Hall
  • March 27th
    • General voting day
    • At the Prestige Lakeside Resort
