Water quality advisory issued for Nelson

The City of Nelson has issued a water quality advisory. They say testing shows increased turbidity in the drinking water supply due to spring run-off.

The city said while the water is consumable, Interior Health recommends anyone with compromised immune systems or anyone seeking additional protection take precautions when drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or brushing their teeth.

“We are working closely with the Interior Health Authority to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they become available,” the city said. “In the meantime, please take the necessary precautions to ensure your safety and the safety of your loved ones.”
