Drugs seized in Hills traffic stop

Charges are expected after two people were arrested and drugs seized in a traffic stop in the Slocan Valley.

RCMP say Monday evening they pulled over a vehicle on Highway 6 near Hills. Three people were inside and police say they seized a “substantial” amount of drugs.

A man and a woman face charges of possession as well as obstruction and assaulting a police officer. RCMP say further charges could be recommended.

Police declined to identify the drugs involved and didn’t specify what happened during the traffic stop that resulted in the assault charge.
