Frustration from a local rural director who has worked for a common sense and cheaper approach to small water systems.
The four main government ministries involved in policy on water treatment are now finally looking at recommendations from BC rural communities.
Those include allowing up to 144 point-of-entry treatment connections in rural areas.
But Area D Director Andy Shadrack says he’s still hearing from health officials that there should be no more than 44 connections.
Shadrack says he remains positive government will allow small communities to drive the cost of improved treatment down by allowing the bigger number of point-of-entry connections per system.
That would save thousands of dollars per homeowner.
