The multi-talented Bessie Wapp has been named Nelson’s Cultural Ambassador for 2015.
The singer, actor and director will promote the Queen City as she performs on her travels.
In accepting the honour via a recorded video message Monday night she delivered one of her well-known folk songs.
Her group Bessie and Back Eddies recently played at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival and have been invited back for next year.
