Rockfall hits 7-Mile Rd/Hway 22A

A rock slide has shut down Highway 22A and Seven Mile Rd south of Trail towards the US border.

Ministry District Highways Manager Hugh Eberle says two particularly big boulders ended up on the highway.

Eberle says heavy rain caused the slide.

Emcon crews were hopeful of partially re-opening 22A early in the afternoon.

However Seven Mile Rd may take longer to clear – a detour is in place for local rural residents.
