After the failure to secure key grants last time the City of Rossland could really do with some success when it comes to fixing it’s ageing infrastructure.
This from Mayor Kathy Moore as the Alpine City applies for two major grants – the most significant being a $6.5 m ask for the upgrade to Washington St.
They’d hoped to get grants for this job as part of the big Columbia Ave project in 2012.
Moore has not ruled out the possibility that taxpayers could be looking at more big borrowing costs in future if the senior government grants don’t materialise.
