Castlegar to host public committee update meeting

It’s another opportunity for the residents of Castlegar to get a look at the activity of city council.

This from councillor Dan Rye after a recommendation was passed Monday night to hold a public meeting in June to engage citizens on issues and decisions from its seven Standing Committees.

After all the concern heading into the November election regarding council not being transparent, Rye says they have to try it once.

Rye says they do a similiar meeting for the budget every year and less than a dozen people show up.

The committees hold regular meetings through the year that report to council.
