Don't ignore smaller facilities:Regional Hospital Board

Funds should be spent on the hospitals in Trail and Nelson but don’t ignore our other smaller rural facilities.

That’s the call from local leaders including Nakusp mayor Karen Hamling.

She says last year Interior Health said the planning and renovations for the Arrow Lakes ER would be a priority.

But it’s not on this year’s capital budget request list from the health authority.

The Regional Hospital Board has called on IH to come up with a rural plan so hospitals in Nakusp, Kaslo, New Denver and Grand Forks aren’t further neglected.
