A massive victory for the Nelson tourism sector.
That’s the reaction from Hume and Best Western hotel general manager Ryan Martin following the move by city council to end the long-time dog ban in the downtown.
Martin says Nelson received negative publicity far and wide because of the bylaw.
He expects the transition to a leashed zone on Baker and Vernon streets to go smoothly once the new rules come into effect.
That will likely happen next month.
