Stats Canada has released the latest unemployment numbers and year-over-year the whole of the Kootenays continues to show improvement.
Around 2,400 more people are now in work compared to January last year when the unemployment rate was at 8.1 per cent.
The current jobless rate is 5.2 per cent.
In BC the jobless rate has improved to 5.5 per cent from 6.5 per cent a year ago.
And nationally the unemployment rate edged lower year-over-year to 6.5 per cent.
