Nelson agricultural lot gets back to its roots

A former agricultural hot-bed in Nelson is returning to those roots.

The owners of the Uphill lot which used to be the Grizelle Greenhouses have donated its use to the Nelson Food Cupboard for a large scale vegetable garden.

Coordinator Kim Charlesworth is delighted because the farmer who has been supplying their vegetables can no longer do so.

They get 1,300 visits to the Food Cupboard each month.

Several local businesses and volunteers have come forward to help prepare the lot for planting this Spring.
