Does Slocan Valley need more seniors housing?

What is the need for affordable seniors housing in the Slocan Valley?

That is the purpose of a survey being circulated in Area H, Slocan, New Denver and Silverton this month that asks residents 50 years and older to assess the need for a potential project in the Village of Slocan.

Slocan Valley Seniors Housing Society President Rita Moir runs the 10-unit Passmore Lodge.

If the survey proves what the society believes to be a lack of afford housing – they’ll move ahead with a feasibility study on three fourplexes.

Moir estimates the entire project would cost a million dollars.
