Castlegar plans intersection to airport lands

Castlegar continues to get its ducks in a row in hopes of landing commercial development on their prized airport lands.

Staff are creating a request for proposals to hire an engineer to design an intersection that would connect Highway 3A by the weigh scales to the 39 acres of available property.

Director of Development Services Phil Markin says its a significant piece of land.

The City installed infrastructure at the airport lands in 2012 in hopes of attracting major commercial development.
