SAR crews thank observant citizens

The search manager in the successful hunt for a missing Trail man is thanking an observant couple.

Mike Hudson is speaking after 23 year old Gavin Ballard was tracked down in the woods in the Pend Oreille area Saturday.

He’d been missing for eleven days.

Hudson – with South Columbia Search and Rescue – says a couple had seen Ballard’s abandoned car around the 14th of July but didn’t know that then…

That was the major breakthrough that prompted a more focused search by regional teams.

Items of clothing were then found and Ballard was ultimately located suffering from exposure and dehydration .
