The BC Coroners Service has identified the woman who died after falling into the Cottonwood Falls canyon on Friday as Jamie Denise Latreille, 37, of Nelson.
She and a companion were walking along the top of the canyon when they fell about 25 meters.
They landed first on rocks and then in Cottonwood Creek.
Although the fire department rescued them, she died in hospital the next day.
