Nelson cyclist critically hurt after hitting car

A Nelson cyclist was critically injured Tuesday morning.

NPD Sgt Dino Falcone says a preliminary investigation suggests the man (in his mid 20’s) was coming down Stanley Street and struck a vehicle that was turning left on Silica.

Falcone says it appears the cyclist was not wearing a helmet.

He says it’s too early to say if any charges will be laid but he’s asking motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to be extra careful during this busy time on the streets
