Referendum voting starts today in Trail

The democratic process to establish if Trail residents want the pedestrian-pipeline bridge starts today with the first of two advance voting days.

Councillor Robert Cacchioni admits mid-August is hardly the best time to have a referendum.


Today’s advance voting goes 8 am till 8 pm at Trail’s Memorial Centre followed by another next Wednesday.

The main referendum date is Saturday 23rd.

The city has promoted the many advantages of building the pedestrian -utility bridge and says the cost would be met by annual Federal Gas Tax revenues.
