The Salvation Army in Nelson has only reached 30% of its Christmas Hamper target with less than two weeks to go.
Major Yvonne Borrows says as they try to fund raise enough to supply roughly 350 hampers to families and individuals across the community, the number of mouths they see every day is doubling.
Borrows explains they are $50,000 off their goal and admits they’re in trouble.
She says if they don’t get the money they’ll have to cut services or staff.
