The Castlegar Safeway and businesses next door were evacuated this lunch hour.
A number of police vehicles cordoned off the parking lot as they responded to a bomb threat.
The area was declared safe around 2:30 pm.
THE RCMP told told us earlier they believed it was a hoax but they had various resources brought in to sweep the store.
The Safeway in Cranbrook was also evacuated after a similar threat.
The plaza parking lot was sealed off during the incident but all roads around the Castlegar Safeway were moving as normal.
