The City of Trail is looking to other municipalities in the region with skateboard parks to help in the construction of their own.
The Silver City has been trying to build such a facility for over two decades and are now staring at a $850,000 project.
Councillor Carol Dobie says despite many differences between the communities they want to reach out to those who helped Nelson get their park built.
Trail’s volunteer fundraising committee has banked $60,000.
Their goal was $275,000 but asked that to be reduced to $100,000 earlier this year.
Council urged them to continue to work toward the original mark.
