Kelowna heralds new Trail air link

Trail is the 20th community to receive regular air service directly out of the Kelowna International Airport.

Director of the Kelowna facility Sam Sammadar says the new Pacific Coastal route -which started Monday- is all about developing connectivity through the surrounding regions.

Sammadar says it has to work both ways however – and the service is very much about getting people from the bigger city to rural areas like the Kootenay Boundary.

The flight from Kelowna to Trail took only 22 minutes.

The new route will run six days a week out of the Silver City facility.
