Castlegar holds off on road grant support for KBRH

It’s too premature for Castlegar City Council to consider supporting Trail’s federal funding application for a second access road to KBRH.

This was Castlegar council’s decision this week as the Silver City is looking at surrounding communities to back their grant request.

Councillor Deb McIntosh says they are waiting to see how Interior Health responds to the report they put out last year that looks at long-term health care needs in all 30 jurisdictions that make up the diverse and disparate West Kootenay Boundary Hospital District.

McIntosh notes that the West Kootenay Hospital board is meeting next week for the first time after the November election and a lot will be discussed.
