North Shore Hall to get much-needed reno

Another local community asset is getting some much needed love and attention .

The RDCK has approved a $206,000 contract to fix up the old North Shore Hall near Nelson.

Area Director Tom Newell says much of the work is about improving the internal systems.

The hall – located just past the Orange Bridge – is also home to Nelson Search and Rescue who occupy the basement and garage.

The work should be done by late summer.

The newly-renovated Taghum Community Hall was unveiled over the weekend.
