Body found in Slocan River

A body has been has been found near the shore of the Slocan River.

Slocan Lake RCMP received a call around 2:30 pm Sunday afternoon about a body approximately 2 km south of Slocan.

The identification of the deceased has not been confirmed and police are not releasing any more information pending a Coroner’s examination.

A 63 year old local woman – Victoria Aguilar of Slocan – has been missing since January 3rd and several search efforts have proven unsuccessful.
