Coroner ID's missing Slocan woman

The body found near the Slocan River Sunday is that of missing Slocan woman Victoria Aguilar.

The Coroner has confirmed the identity.

The 63 year old had been missing for more than six weeks and searches conducted in January were unsuccessful. Family reported her disappearance January 7th after failing to make contact with her.

She was found Sunday afternoon by a passerby walking near the river about 3 km south of Slocan City.

The Coroner has now ruled out foul play but continues to investigate.

They say she liked to go for long walks in the area.
