Nelson Squash Club making big comeback

Some big fund-raising and a more understanding landlord has given the Nelson Squash Club a new lease on life.

The members of the non-profit society have raised $30,000 to restore the two lower level show courts and lounge area they once occupied.

President Pat Hodgson says it’s a huge step forward after the previous landlord allowed them to have key-only membership access to the two lesser quality courts on the top floor.

The re-opening of the squash club is slated for September.

It is located above The Royal on Baker Street.
