It is very sad that we have to hold an annual Day of Mourning for workers injured or killed at work.

This from President of the West Kootenay Labour Council Gerry Schmon as events will be held across the country Tuesday.

173 people died in work-related incidents last year in B.C.

Ceremonies throughout our region were on the schedule.

One was held at noon at the Tyler Memorial field house in Nelson. The walk of remembrance in Trail from the local 480 went in the afternoon and in Castlegar and event was set for 6 pm at Kinsman Park.
