Leopard Frog wins sculpture walk

Another Sculpture Walk is in the books in Castlegar and local artists have secured a unique double-win.

The 9 ft long steel sculpture called Northern Leopard Frog – which was mounted on the wall of Peak Physique – won the People’s Choice award .

And Executive Director Joy Barrett says the external jury also named it Artistic Merit Award winner.

KSA instructor Kevin Kratz and Krestova’s James Karthein made the sculpture which will now be purchased by the city of Castlegar for permanent display.

The pair also made the steel heron which was the 2012 People’s Choice winner.
