Is CP train situation in Castlegar/Trail getting better?

Have things been quietly improving along the Castlegar to Trail CP rail corridor since the public outcry over the night trains?

Castlegar councillor Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff  – who lives next to a crossing – says a train blared it’s whistle in the dead of night every night when the changes were made in the fall.

But she’s noticed an improvement.

She says while she’s noticed fewer trains in the wee hours CPR still should do a lot more to help residents who are struggling to sleep.

She expects the city will contact the company again to demand a better scheduling solution.

CPR meanwhile says they have made no recent changes and trains run depending on operational requirements.
