The city of Castlegar has launched a survey to gather public input on the future of their Solid Waste and Recycling Program.
It asks things like how often should pick-up be, what should be picked up at curbside and even if there should be a city-wide ban on plastic grocery bags?
The ultimate aim is to reduce what goes in garbage and boost recycling quantities.
There has been much community frustration following last year’s launch of the province wide Multi Material BC Stewardship Program and the city’s garbage and recycling contract expires in the Spring.
Director of Civic Works Chris Barlow says before forming the survey they polled municipalities across the country.
