Several witnesses to RCMP shooting:IIO

The fatal shooting of a man by RCMP in Castlegar last week was seen by more than the two officers present.

That’s the word from the Independent Investigations Office who remain in the city to do additional forensic analysis.

Spokesman Ralph Krenz .

But he could not say if the witnesses were other drivers.

There’s no word on if the deceased was with anyone when he was shot Thursday night during at attempted traffic stop.He died later in hospital.

Krenz couldn’t say what additional forensic analysis is being done but in general terms that could include things like skid marks, and GPS data.

Flight delays meant investigators could not take over jurisdiction of the incident scene at the Kinnaird Bridge until Friday afternoon.
